The world of Lethienn is a strange one, formed from the broken pieces of worlds that have fallen into decay and nothingness. Its people, once refugees of worlds far from this one, found commonality in their loss, and took the remains of their once fruitful lives and fashioned themselves a new existence. It is from these ashes that they created Vethoris, the ringed city, a testament to unity and sacrifice. More and more people came from their fallen worlds, though, and soon their numbers were too many to contain.

Dusan, then king of Vethoris, joined hands with the curious and the adventurous to seek out more land for their people, and it is from the efforts that the city states of Lethienn were formed. Each provided a purpose for the betterment of their people and it was with the magic and union of their work that each city was provided a waypoint to allow travel between each at will, and all of them leading back to Vethoris.

Though the land was troubled with change and the whims of men are not always altruistic, the world knew peace for a time and slow prosperity in its growth.

It was greed that drove adventurers to plunder the Depths, a cavernous mountainside far to the north of Vethoris, and it is here that they found something. The awakening of a creature from the Depths shrouded the land in an umbral fog and forced its people to retreat from their homes lest they be set upon by the monsters that crept out of the dark. The last bastion of hope is the ringed city itself, which longs to reunite with its fellow city states that have been shrouded in eternal night. If the people live, no one can say, but the waypoints that once connected these cities have since gone silent and the magic has stilled.

You are a wanderer who has braved the umbral fog to join Vethoris in its attempts to save its people and to return balance to this world. Should it fall to the dark, the repercussions will be dire to all this star is connected to.
